From Central Station, hop on the Blue line and disembark at Kungsträdgårdsgatan. I think that this (unpronounceable) station is probably the most impressive of the art metro stations in Stockholm. The design by artist Ulrik Samuelson, installed in in 1977 and 1987, is supposed to represent an archeological dig.

Possibly Stockholm's busiest stations, the T-Centralen metro stop is smack bang in the city with quite a few lines running through it. To find Stockholm's metro art at T-Centralen, you'll need to go down a few floors to the Blue Line. It took me about 10-minutes to find it (there are lots of tunnels and escalators), but just ask if you're not sure.

The Green line (officially Tunnelbana 1, or "Metro 1") has 3 line numbers and 49 stations: 12 subterranean (nine concrete, three rock) and 37 above ground stations (between Slussen and Hökarängen stations). The Red line (Tunnelbana 2) has 2 line numbers and 36 stations: 20 subterranean (four concrete, 16 rock) and 15 above ground stations.
