DIY Cardboard Pirate Ship: Little, in this instructable I show you how I made a pirate ship. For this project I used cardboard from pizza boxes, egg cartons, hot glue, thread, superb glue and paint. It took me about 5 days to end, working a couple starting hours daily.

Directions: Print and cut out the pirate ship template. Choose a piece of cardstock or thin cardboard for the ship and mast base. Then choose colored papers for the rest of the patterns. Trace the patterns on the chosen papers and cut all the pieces out. Fold and make creases along the yellow lines of the side and back ship pieces.

Using screws attach 5 cut pickets from #2 to 2x4s from #1, so that they rest on top of each other with 2x4s at each end. This will be the back of the ship. Cut 4 - 5′ 6″ pieces from fence pickets. Attach 2 pickets from #4 to each side of ship attaching to the exposed part of each 2×4. These will become the sides of the ship.

Use the hot glue gun to make a fold on the side of the flag to attach to the hardwood dowel. To attach the cardboard to the wagon, use a lot of tape to secure it. Now your child is ready for Gasparilla or Halloween in their cardboard pirate ship. This was such a fun project to create for my boys. It made the Gasparilla experience so much better.
